WAITSBURG GUN CLUB ANNUAL NEWS LETTER FOR RENEWALS

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE NEWSLETTER. IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU AS A MEMBER.

Membership Renewals due by September 1^st, 2011

The lock combination on the gate at the Waitsburg Gun Club Range will be changed on September 1, 2011. Membership renewals should be made before this time to have continued access to the range. You may renew by sending in the enclosed renewal form with your check to:

You may also send your renewal to Waitsburg Gun Club, P.O. Box 61, Waitsburg, WA 99361 but you will have to wait longer for your membership to be processed as this P.0. Box is checked less frequently.

Membership fees for RENEWALS are still just $35.00 for NRA (National Rifle Association) members and $45 for non NRA members. Membership renewals are allowed until Oct. 1, 2011 WITHOUT CURRENT MEMBERS HAVING TO PAY THE $30.00 INITIATION FEE AGAIN. Checks are to be made out to the Waitsburg Gun Club.

There is a new website now online at http://www. waitsburggunclub.com. If you want to see anything added to this website, email the club from the website or put a note on the back of the renewal form. Note - the membership renewal form has space for listing your email address. Please add your email address if you would like to get other Gun Club information sent to you during the year. We are still working on this to get it working right.

Election of Club Officers at Sept. 1st Thursday, Meeting

Annual election of board officers will take place at 7:00pm, Sept. 1st, at the WGC clubhouse at the range. Come show your support and consider filling one of the vital roles in our all volunteer organization. An executive committee meeting will be held, following the officers election to plan Sight in Days. The officers up for election: Pres., Vice Pres., Sect., Treasurer, Senior Range Off. & Range Maint. Officer. Volunteers are needed for both events (more below).

Volunteers Needed!!!

Our Sight in Days event needs several people that can assist shooters readying their rifles for hunting season. It’s important that the club have experienced rifle shooters on hand as this is open to the public and is very popular with non members. Come join the fun and help our local shooting sports efforts.

We will have a Range Work Day on Sunday Sept 11th from 9:00-Noon to repair target frames and ready the range for Sight in Days.

Sight in days will be Sept. 17 & 18, 24 & 25 & Oct 1 & 2, hours 9am - 3 pm if we get enough volunteers. Without volunteers, there will not be any public sight in days. To sign up, email the club at info@waitsburggunclub.com or call 509-525-2098 & leave a message or send a note back in with the renewal form.

SHOOTING HOURS!!!

The hours for shooting are from 8AM to 8PM OR Safe shooting time because you can‘t see clearly for safe shooting when it is to dark. We have a deal with the neighbors for these hours to keep everybody happy with the noise. The range may also be closed during inclement weather and when there are special events on the range. If range is closed for maintenance, you may enter if you are willing to help. Call our range information phone line 509-520-0733 to check the range status before you come out. If you would like to have a question answered about the range, use phone line 509-525-2098 and leave a message. Someone will call you back.

RANGE ABUSE

There has been a problem with some members drinking ALCOHOL ON THE RANGE. Drinking and guns don’t mix. This is a violation of club rules. If you violate this rule, your membership will be forfeited and you will not be allowed back on the range.

Please STOP shooting golf balls, TV sets, water jugs, and other non-standard targets. Most people that shoot these targets don’t pick them up. The mower does not like these targets & someone has to clean up the mess when doing Range maintenance. After you get done shooting, please pick up your paper targets since they blow around and the neighbors don’t like the mess. A few members are taking big pieces of stove wood out on the range & shooting at them. This must stop. The tractor hit one the first week of July & parts on the 3 point hitch were broken.

Membership Information Needed.

We need to have everybody, even the life members, fill out the membership renewal form completely with all the information. Be sure to include your NRA 8-12 digit membership number and your expiration month and year. If you can’t find your card than take it off the mailing label on the magazine you get from the NRA. We cannot give you the $10.00 membership discount without your current NRA membership number. If you wish to join the NRA, please contact Fred and you will receive another discount for joining the NRA through the Gun Club (as well as a membership discount). The more members the Gun Club has enrolled in the NRA, the lower the Club’s insurance costs.

Remember, if you move you need to let us know your new address.
